Sportsplay exists and operates because of a very special gift from our members. Our players, fans and administrators share with us their aspirations to achieve at the highest level in their chosen endeavour, and they inspire us to do the same.

In the Sportsplay community, like in the Australian sporting community where we began, we are proud of our sporting ability and our reputation as a team of good sports.

Our society expects high standards of behaviour from all people involved in sport, and we at Sportsplay share that expectation. The responsibility for this lies with the decision makers at every level within Sportsplay, and within our entire community, and we will all strive to ensure that our policies, programs and services are always based on our principles of fairness, respect, teamwork, responsibility and safety.

Sportsplay upholds these principles:

Fairness: Sportsplay operates within the spirit of the rules, never taking an unfair advantage and making informed and honourable decisions at all times.

Respect: Sportsplay recognises the contribution which our members make to our community, so we treat them with dignity and consideration, and we care for the small parts of their lives they share with us. Our community does the same. If you do see disrespectful behaviour, please report it.

Teamwork: Sportsplay is community, and we are stronger because of it. Sportsplay is not about self-promotion, but about self-expression. We are part of a larger entity and we are stronger collectively your contributions to Sportsplay should always make Sportsplay a stronger team.

Responsibility: Everyone within Sportsplay takes responsibility for their own actions and we aspire to inspire and to be a positive role model.

Safety: Sportsplay encourages healthy and safe participation. Where we can, we prevent and report dangerous and inappropriate behaviour, while always demonstrating concern for others.
